Thanks to her campaigns and covers, she’s widely known across the world and her image has been made use of by many fashion brands. It’s her pan-European looks, which combine both Western and Eastern European traits, giving her the unique charm and appeal. In Switzerland she’s represented by METRO Model Agency Zurich.
Polish supermodel Anja Rubik is a citizen of the world. According to Rubik, she doesn’t really have a hometown, per se, considering she spent her formative years traveling between Poland, Greece, Canada, and South Africa.
Upon completing her studies, and walking several runway collections in Paris, Milan, and New York, Rubik received her big break: a Chloé advertising campaign photographed by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin.
Rubik’s enviable golden tresses—chopped into that season’s must-have pixie cut—commanded center stage in the images, but it was her impossibly long legs that caused the fashion industry to take notice. In addition to her seven-year tenure as the face of Chloé, Rubik has fronted campaigns for Gucci for four consecutive seasons, photographed by Mert and Marcus, and Fendi for three consecutive seasons, photogrpahed by Karl Lagerfeld. The celebrated octogenarian designer-photographer also photographed Rubik for the cover of Numéro, and the 2011 Pirelli calendar, and has referred to her as one of his favorite models.
