Supermodel and '90s icon Kate Moss has become the face of Kim Kardashian's lingerie brand Skims. "I first met Kate in 2014 through [Burberry's chief creative officer] Riccardo Tisci and was instantly struck by her sassy humor and authentic and classic beauty - we've been friends ever since," Kardashian West said in a statement. Kate and Kim were recently spotted in Rome after the Fendi Couture runway show.
Kate was once the face of the legendary Calvin Klein lingerie campaign as a teenager.
"I've been a fan of Skims since day one," Moss says in a statement. "What Kim is doing with the brand is so fresh and modern. She makes underwear that women need and that fits them perfectly. I wear it, my daughter wears it, even my mom wears it."
In photos by photographer Donna Trope, Kate poses in the brand's basic corrective lingerie sets, which Kardashian says are "comfortable, versatile and designed for any body."
"Kate represents so much in the fashion world, but her influence goes beyond the industry," said Jens Grede, co-founder of Skims. "She's a cultural force. The definition of something very cool and yet completely unique. There's no one like her."
Kardashian West and Grede founded Skims in September 2019. While the corrective lingerie line initially sparked controversy, Skims has attracted 2.9 million fans on Instagram and attention from bigger industry players.
Kardashian West has also hinted that she would like to pursue male basic and corrective lingerie, but no date has yet been set.
Last month, Kardashian West announced that Skims would develop formal underwear, sleepwear and homewear to be worn by Team USA athletes at the upcoming Summer Olympics in Tokyo.
Kim also has a profitable cosmetics brand, KKW Beauty. In the summer of 2020, the star signed a $200 million licensing agreement with the international cosmetics company Coty.
