Patricia van der Vliet is originally from the Netherlands, where she was born in 1989. As part of the fourth season of Netherlands' Next Top Model, she made her debut to the world of modeling in 2009 on competitive catwalks for an international audience. Yet her success as a model has skyrocketed based on a simple decision she made to change her hair from long and blonde to short and black. After this, her runway career has exploded, making her the star of 50 shows in one season on average (perhaps the record for any model). This incredible list includes walks for Calvin Klein, Marc Jacobs, Carolina Herrera, Jason Wu, Rodarte, while she also did Giorgio Armani in Milan, plus Alexander McQueen, Lanvin, and Jean Paul Gaultier in Paris.

Campaigns have also become a breeze for Patricia van der Vliet, as she has worked for Balenciaga, Burberry, H&M, Alexander McQueen, and Bergdorf Goodman. Recently, she has worked in Asia as the cover star of Vogue Japan and China, as well as Cosmopolitan. With her hectic schedule, her modeling work is full time and she loves the variety and volume of her runway work. Among her favorite modeling moments is the memory of her parents viewing her runway walk for Louis Vuitton recently. Without this family support, modeling would have been “impossible” she acknowledges. While traveling and modeling internationally, she still keeps connected to friends and family at home where she does not have to only talk about modeling. Patricia van der Vliet believes that while walking the runway, she completely transforms and lets the moment take over, losing all fear and control. Yet she is still a perfectionist, practicing her walk obsessively before entering into the magic moment.
