Marike Wessels originates from the small town of Gordon’s Bay in South Africa. She was scouted in Cape Town near Camp’s Bay and her international modeling career has since taken off. To date, her biggest modeling jobs include L'Oreal Hair campaigns for the UK and Ireland as well as a Dove TV commercial. Since she grew up as a huge fan of reading, Marike still searches for that next great book in bookstores all around the world. She continues to stay fit through yoga and her love of outdoor activities (especially her knack for tennis), though she also loves baking and cooking.

Despite her busy roster as a model, Marike Wessels is also a somatologist in the process of creating her own holistic health business. A licensed health and skin care therapist, she also aspires to become certified to teach Yoga while deepening her education in psychology. For Marike, the most fascinating aspect of being a model is the feeling of living like a local in each place she works. Everywhere she goes, she takes something small along with her for the rest of the ride.

The life of a model requires constant change and travel: Marike capitalizes on this part of her work. Among her favorite destinations, she visited Zurich, Switzerland for vacation and adored the beauty of the serene location. Her idols include Gisele Bundchen, because of her unique and holistic natural looks. Though continuing her modeling career is important, Marike Wessels would also like to create investment projects and become increasingly entrepreneurial while eventually raising a family of her own.
