Mari Hansen grew up in Kristiansand in the South of Norway. Despite her “tomboy” hobbies such as an avid interest in sports, she was scouted at a festival before she began high school. Since her discovery, Armani, Vogue, Ted Baker, Elle, Body Shop and Calvin Klein have all become impressive clients of the model. For Mari, the parts that the audience never see are the most fascinating parts of the life of a model. The makeup, technical setup, coordination and ambience all enter into frame, even when the viewer only sees the final product.
With Mari Hansen, modeling is only part of the picture, as she is passionate about learning about how the universe works, including space, psychology and Buddhism through online courses. Juggling social life and career as a model can become difficult, but she enjoys the freedom to travel and meet creative icons.
Her idols include Iris Apfel and Neil DeGrasse Tyson, as they are as idiosyncratic as they are intelligent and adventurous. Mari Hansen sees the importance of finding happiness in the present internal moment instead of searching for it in external sources.
