The hype surrounding the French designer continues to grow.
Haider Ackermann is on everyone's lips right now. The man who discovered fashion at the age of thirteen thanks to Yves Saint Laurent’s work, went to Belgium in 1994 to study fashion design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, before working alongside John Galliano. He created his brand in 2001 under the impetus of Raf Simons, then was entrusted with the artistic direction of the house Berluti from 2016 to 2018. Today, the designer who just unveiled a collection in collaboration with Fila seems to be on all fronts.
Favorite designer of Timothée Chalamet:
If Timothée Chalamet could swear to a designer, it would probably be Haider Ackermann. Just take a closer look at his red carpet looks to better understand the role of Haider Ackermann in the fashion evolution of the actor of “Bones and All”. Timothée Chalamet is turning into a real fashion icon by dint of certainly sharp looks, and the French designer is not for nothing: in 2018 already, he opted for a black suit all in simplicity, sublimated with details cut out on the jacket.
Since then, he swears by his creations, from the pearly suit composed of a belted jacket and rolled-up pants that he wore in Venice in 2019, through the bold red halter top for which he opted this year at the Mostra or the silky electric blue ensemble at the premiere of “The King” in Australia. The pair, who have become friends, even made a hoodie for the “Silent Soldier” project, which fights for the rights of Afghan women.
Haider Ackermann will design the next haute couture collection of Jean Paul Gaultier
The announcement was made last September. After Chitose Abe, Lotta Volkova, Y/Project, and Olivier Rousteing, it is Haider Ackermann's turn to inject his DNA into the wardrobe of fashion's enfant terrible. The designer has been appointed as the new guest who will sign the new haute couture collection of the house Jean Paul Gaultier. Over the years, the designer has distinguished himself by his creations playing the card of contrasts, influenced by cultural differences, and mixing dress codes, with cuts both elegant and structured. Haider Ackermann will unveil his collection for Jean Paul Gaultier in January 2023, during the Haute Couture Fashion Week. We can't wait to see the result!
A collab with Fila
The latest coup of Haider Ackermann happened when an audience of five stars gathered in Manchester to attend the presentation of the collection he imagined in collaboration with Fila. This capsule, as unexpected as it is interesting, mixes the aesthetic sportswear codes of the Italian brand with the signature elegance of the French designer. On the catwalk, the colors were bright and the pieces were a tribute to the young generation.
What does Haider Ackermann have in store for us next? Only time will tell, but the designer seems well on his way to continuing to delight us, both on the red carpet and through his collaborations.
