In December 2013 came the tragic news that Fast & Furious star Paul Walker died in a car accident. The American actor was seen in as many as seven Fast & Furious films, but died during the filming of the last one.
Now the daughter Meadow Walker is ready to step into the spotlight.
The 22-year-old announced earlier this week that she is the new face of Proenza Schouler as a model for the Pre Fall-21 campaign.
To her 2.5 million followers, she writes, among other things: "I am so incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported me and believed in me."
The comment field is flooded with congratulations and words of praise, including from Game of Thrones actress Nathalie Emmanuel, who also starred in Fast & Furious 7 with Paul Walker.
"Yes, dear! You are a vision. Congratulations!!” she writes.
"Your father would be proud," writes another.
Walker was signed by the model agency DNA in 2017, and this is her first major campaign, writes Page Six.
Tributes to the father
In addition to his acting career, Paul Walker had a great passion for the sea. The daughter now heads the Paul Walker Foundation, which provides scholarships to students and researchers studying marine science.
"Meadow is happy to be able to continue his father's legacy," it says on the organization's website.
She constantly shares photos on her Instagram profile where she pays tribute to the deceased father.
