By the end of August, re-sale platform RealReal returns with its annual resale report for the year, which shows that Gucci and Louis Vuitton are among the most popular brands, HYPEBAE reports.
Gucci ranks first among luxury brands in terms of demand this year, with the brand's accessories showing the strongest sales growth. Next are Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Prada and Dior.

Meanwhile, expensive sneakers soared 383%, with millennials and women buying the most. Nike has the highest resale value among other brands, thanks to its partnership with Kanye West. In other countries, Japanese streetwear has generated high international demand thanks to brands like Issey Miyake and Yohji Yamamoto Pour Homme.

In addition, streetwear shoppers are more inclined toward a tried-and-true streetwear aesthetic than a hyped collaboration. "When skateboarding and streetwear pioneers get older, they combine sports and streetwear into their street style," shared sneaker and streetwear expert Sean Conway. Demand for brands like Casablanca rose 358%, while interest in Nike and Off-White collaborations, along with Supreme and Vetements offerings declined.

"Growing restrictions and the re-emergence of COVID-19 are having a significant impact on buying behavior. Savvy shoppers are clinging to investments in luxury goods, with the most significant growth occurring among Generation Z and Millennials. According to our data, among all age groups, Generation Z will be the most conscious buyers," Rati Sahi Levesque president of RealReal.
